Pop star pleads not guilty

Santa Maria -- It was only his arraignment, but pop superstar Michael Jackson left court here Friday as if he'd been fully vindicated of child molestation charges. After pleading not guilty to all charges, the self-declared "King of Pop" left the courthouse in this quiet blue-collar town to the cheers of more than 1,000 fans pressed up against temporary chain-link fences. Just before climbing into his SUV, Jackson suddenly jumped onto the roof of the truck, snapping off a quick dance step. In a dark suit and sunglasses, shielded from the sun by an umbrella, he acknowledged supporters with a smile, waves, blown kisses and "V'' signs with his right hand before climbing down and making a slow getaway.
